There can be a misconception that chocolatiers make their own chocolate... They don't.
Chocolatiers take ingredients (chocolate being only one of those ingredients, but is usually the "main" one), and work to create something truly amazing and unique.
A chocolatier may often be the person responsible for "the process" from start to finish; from creating a recipe/flavour mixture and combination, through to making the product, and finally packaging, displaying and selling.
The term can also be used to describe a shop or business that specialises in the sale of chocolates.
Most of the world's best chocolatiers can be found in France, Germany, and Switzerland, although chocolatiers are starting to become very well known in the United States also.
